ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT. PROTECTING COUNTRY.

Environmental responsibility is embedded in how we operate every day. Operating within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area carries both privilege and responsibility. Our approach focuses on reducing impact, protecting biodiversity and managing our operations in a way that supports the long-term health of the environments where we work. Across all tours, we apply consistent environmental controls designed to minimise impact and protect natural and cultural values. Low-Impact Operations on Every Experience.

PROTECTING LAND AND HABITAT

Use of designated tracks, boardwalks and approved access points only. Small group sizes to reduce pressure on sensitive sites. No interference with vegetation, natural features or cultural sites.

RESPECTING WILDLIFE

Wildlife is observed from safe, non-intrusive distances. No feeding, handling or interference. Quiet, controlled viewing to avoid disruption to natural behaviour.

MANAGING WASTE

Carry-in and carry-out approach across all tour sites. Waste is returned and sorted for appropriate disposal and recycling. Guides actively monitor and remove litter during operations.

GUIDING RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR

Mandatory environmental briefings delivered at the start of each experience. Guide-led interpretation covering local ecosystems, cultural values and conservation practices. Reinforcement of responsible behaviours, including staying on tracks, waste management and wildlife protection.

How We Manage Our Environmental Impact

Our Environmental Management Plan guides how we identify, manage and reduce environmental impacts across all operations, in line with permit conditions and regulatory requirements. It is supported by:

  • Compliance with national park permits, licences and operating conditions.
  • Documented procedures and site-specific operating controls.
  • Defined staff roles, training and accountability.
  • Environmental monitoring, data collection and annual review processes.
  • Collaboration with land managers, Traditional Owners and conservation partners.

This framework underpins how we plan, deliver and continuously improve every experience.

Guiding Principles: Leave No Trace

We apply the internationally recognised Leave No Trace principles across all operations, guiding staff training, guest behaviour and on-tour decision-making.

These principles are embedded in our procedures and briefings, supporting consistent, low-impact practices across all locations where we operate.
