Where Is Port Douglas? – Port Douglas is 67km north of Cairns. Vehicle access is via the scenic Great Barrier Reef drive which hugs the mountain side and provides panoramic views over the Coral Sea. It’s a popular holiday base and offers easy access to Mossman Gorge and the Daintree Rainforest. Expect flat terrain, sandy beaches, parklands and the elevated lookout at Flagstaff Hill.
Welcome to Country – There are two Traditional Owners of the Port Douglas area. The Kuku Yalanji (pronounced Goo-goo Ya-lan-jee) are the Traditional Custodians of the land from Mowbray River in the south to Cooktown in the north and Palmer River to the west. From Mowbray to Cairns the Traditional Owners are the Yirrganydji people (pronounced Yir-ga-nyee-jee or Yir-gan-jee). We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

PORT DOUGLAS TOURS REEF AND RAINFOREST
Major drawcards for visitors choosing Port Douglas are the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. Two World Heritage listed places of outstanding natural beauty. The Daintree is the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest, older than the Amazon, and home to plants and animals found nowhere else on Earth. The Great Barrier Reef needs little introduction: the world’s largest living reef system, made up of hundreds of reef sites and tropical islands. Linking the two are rainforest rivers and golden sandy beaches. At Cairns Adventure Group, we visit them all. Your Port Douglas Reef and Rainforest Adventure, Starts With Us.
