CAIRNS ADVENTURE GROUP ECOTOURISM

Conservation begins with education but not the kind found in textbooks or lectures. It starts when people truly connect with the land. When they walk through ancient rainforests, feel the warmth of the summer water cascading over the rocks, hear stories passed down through generations of Indigenous custodians, and laugh alongside the easy charm of our tropical larrikin spirit.

It’s in these moments when people see, touch, and feel that something powerful happens. The landscape speaks to them. The culture wraps around them. And the magic of this place leaves its mark. It’s no longer just scenery or history it changes them; it becomes personal.

That connection fosters understanding, people begin to see not just the beauty, but the fragility. They realise that protecting the natural world isn’t someone else’s job, it’s all of ours.”

Director, Roderic Rees

Our Environment Policy

At Cairns Adventure Group we’re passionate about the natural landscapes and environment that make up our great destination. A biodiverse rainforest environment, rich with Indigenous history and the trails of early European explorers. We enjoy these every day on our tours and as a business, we are 100% committed to protecting these places, for the enjoyment of generations to come. For our group, we feel it’s imperative to be at the forefront of best sustainability practices. At a minimum, our aims and objectives are to:

  • Ensure compliance with our National Park Permit conditions.
  • Identify and limit any possible environmental risk associated with our operation.
  • Contribute to the appropriate conservation objectives of governing bodies.
  • Ensure there is no long term environmental or cultural impact from our operations.
  • Reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and improve resilience and adaptation to climate change.

We aim to educate all our guests on the importance of rainforest ecosystems, and their vulnerability from the impacts of: changing climates, rising sea levels, pollution, deforestation, poaching and other human influences. We aim to better educate our guests about what they can do to have a positive impact on the environment.

At Cairns Adventure Group We Feel It’s Imperative To Be At The Forefront Of Best Sustainability Practices.
