Overview

Our overnight Daintree Rainforest adventure takes you deep into this World Heritage-listed wilderness for an immersive experience. Discover the region’s key highlights, including a Daintree River wildlife cruise, the remote beauty of Cape Tribulation, and Mossman Gorge, where you’ll connect with Traditional Owners and enjoy time to explore and swim.

Spend the night in the heart of the rainforest before continuing your journey the next day. Choose from four tour options to suit your interests, with all options including the core experiences, and optional upgrades such as rainforest ziplining and a half-day Great Barrier Reef tour.

Check-In

This activity requires guests to complete three separate waivers. These will be automatically emailed to you at the time of booking.

Pick-Up Information

DAY 1

  • Pick-up from your confirmed location in Cairns, Northern Beaches, or Port Douglas.
  • Travel to Mossman Gorge for a Welcome to Country and Gorge Visit.
  • Enjoy a Daintree River Cruise.
  • Arrive at Turtle Rock Café for included lunch.
  • Check in to your accommodation (Safari Lodge Office is located at Turtle Rock Café).

If you have booked Ziplining:

  • Check-in at Treetops Adventure at least 15 minutes before your session (2.45pm). 
  • Treetops Adventure is located a 2‑minute walk across the road from Turtle Rock Café.

If you have not booked Ziplining:

  • The afternoon is spent at your own leisure

DAY 2

  • Breakfast at your own expense.

If you have booked the Reef Trip:

    • Check-in at the Ocean Safari Desk (at Turtle Rock Café) at 7:30am
    • It is recommended you have Breakfast at Turtle Rock Cafe and place your meal order at 7.30am

If you have not booked the Reef Trip:

    • The morning can be spent at your own leisure
  • Lunch at your own expense.
  • 2:15pm pick‑up from Turtle Rock Café (Cape Tribulation).*
  • Transfer back to Port Douglas / Cairns with stops at:
    • Daintree Ice‑Cream Co. (own expense)
    • Rainforest Boardwalk

Please ensure you are on time for all check‑ins as tours operate on strict schedules.

What to Wear

  • Lightweight, sun-protective clothing (avoid denim or heavy materials).
  • Bathers/swimsuit for optional swimming at Mossman Gorge (Day 1) and snorkelling on the Reef (Day 2).
  • Comfortable walking shoes — Mossman Gorge includes a 400m sealed rainforest walk (each way).
  • Refer to the What to Bring list for additional items.

Ziplining Notes

  • We do not recommend crop tops, skirts, or shorts that may ride up under the harness.
  • Enclosed shoes are mandatory.
  • Long hair must be tied back.

Important Notes

  • Adults Tour — This product has been designed for adults.
  • Meals — Day 1 lunch is included. All other meals/ snacks are at own cost.
  • Allergies — Dietary requirements must be advised in advance.
  • Weather — Tours operate in most weather conditions; we recommend bringing a rain jacket.
  • Transport — This itinerary is self‑guided between activities unless stated otherwise in your booking.

Treetops Adventure Zipline

  • Waiver must be completed prior to arrival.
  • Session times are strict — please arrive on time.
  • Weight limit: Maximum 120kg (weighed on arrival).
  • Includes a 200m steep gravel walk — moderate fitness required.

Ocean Safari Reef Tour

  • Waiver must be completed prior to arrival.
  • Operates subject to weather and sea conditions.

Where can I purchase meals?

Turtle Rock Café

Before your Reef Trip: Order breakfast at 7:30am to allow time to eat and check in.

Offers freshly cooked wholesome meals, great coffee and tropical outdoor dining in a casual, friendly atmosphere in the heart of Cape Tribulation.

There is also a small convenience store opposite your accommodation. You are able to purchase basic groceries and use Camp Kitchen Cooking Facilities.

Do I need to know how to swim?

Basic swimming ability is recommended for snorkelling.
Flotation jackets and noodles are available.

Can I take my phone/camera on the Reef Trip or Zipline?

Yes!

  • Reef Trip: Waterproof case recommended.
  • Ziplining: Devices must be secured on a lanyard (available for purchase at the time of activity check-in).

How do I get between activities?

All activities and accommodation are within easy walking distance.

Is the zipline suitable for beginners or children?

No experience needed; however a moderate fitness level is required.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

The Day 1 lunch menu includes options for vegans and vegetarians.

How long is the Reef Trip?

Approximately half a day, including:

  • 2 hours snorkelling
  • 25‑minute high‑speed boat transfer each way

Will I get seasick on the Reef Trip?

It depends on the sea conditions and your sensitivity to motion. The high‑speed boat ride often helps reduce motion sickness. Seasickness tablets are available for purchase at check‑in, and a ginger smoothie at breakfast is a great natural option.

How long is the Ziplining?

Approximately 1.5–2 hours.

What parts are guided? 

Your journey to and from Cape Tribulation is fully guided, with informative commentary provided by your driver/guide along the way.

Once you arrive in Cape Tribulation, the experience becomes more flexible, allowing you to check in to your accommodation and explore the area at your own pace. This gives you time to relax and enjoy the rainforest environment independently.

If you have pre-booked additional activities as part of your package, local operators will guide those experiences, and accommodation check-in staff are available to assist with directions, timings, and any further information you may need.
