Join the Sunset and Shipwreck Tour on Magnetic Island for a scenic 2 hour journey along the coastline from Nelly Bay to Cockle Bay. This guided tour focuses on the story of the SS City of Adelaide shipwreck and provides insights into the island's maritime history.
Departing from Magnetic Island on selected dates, you will travel to the City of Adelaide site where the guide shares fascinating stories as you watch the sun set over the water. The route offers the chance to see local birdlife and learn about other shipwrecks along the way.
The tour departs at 4:30 PM from April to the end of July, meeting at 4:15 PM in front of Peppers Resort in Nelly Bay, just a one minute walk from the Nelly Bay Sealink ferry terminal. Look for the Aquascene sign and staff near the boardwalk area.
Please dress in comfortable, casual clothing, bring your own beverages and snacks, a camera, and a jacket or jumper during cooler months from May to September. The tour operates based on guest numbers and weather conditions.
