Cairns Adventure Group Recognized as a winner in the Water Adventures category by Online Booking Platform GetYourGuide

Cairns, Australia, (31st October 2019) — Cairns Adventure Group’s Waterfall Wanderer’s was named the winner in the Water Adventure category in the Oceania Region in the second annual GetYourGuide Awards for incredible travel experiences. GetYourGuide, an online booking platform, offers more than 50,000 travel activities in 7,600 destinations worldwide. The annual awards, announced Oct. 30, recognize the best and most exclusive experiences on the platform FastCompany called one of the Most Innovative Companies of 2019.

Cairns Adventure Group’s Waterfall Wanderer’s Tour was selected based on a competitive selection process. GetYourGuide’s network of destination experts nominated their best local experiences in thousands of destinations across key categories and regions. A panel of judges analyzed and scored nominations against a rigorous set of standards including average review score, consistent customer service excellence, uniqueness of activity, and contribution to the local community. Top performers were awarded a 2019 GetYourGuide Award.

‘It is an honour to be selected as one of the top 99 tours out of the more than 50,000 tours listed on GetYourGuide’ said Director Roderic Rees.  ‘Our reviews are consistently 4.9 out of 5 and winning this award really highlights our ongoing commitment towards excellence, not only on the tour itself but the way in which the whole experience is delivered’.

Waterfall Wanderers is fast becoming a ‘must do’ tour with travellers from around the world recommending the tour as light-hearted adventure off the beaten track.  Exploring the Atherton Tablelands, this tour takes in world famous waterfalls such as Millaa Millaa and the natural rock-slide of Josephine Falls as well as visiting some magnificent natural wonders such as the Curtain Fig Tree and Lake Eacham, a volcanic crater lake.  Unique and elusive wildlife abounds in this area with groups regularly spotting platypus and the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo in the wild.  Waterfall Wanderers proudly stands as one of only 5 tours Australia-wide to win in this years awards.

“Experiences are the core of why we travel,” said Emil Martinsek, GetYourGuide CMO. “Long after memories of the hotel have faded, the tours and activities we book on holiday are the memories we remember. Whether it’s meeting a special tour guide who becomes a lifelong friend or discovering a new favorite food during a restaurant tour, the experiences we enjoy have the power to enrich our lives and positively influence who we are.”
